On August 18, Apple officially announced the new Apple Music Festival, which is replacing the iTunes Festival that previously encompassed an entire month.
This new festival is just 10 days in length, but there are still plenty of bands and artists to keep track of while the event unfolds. Specifically, Apple has recently announced that the lineup for the festival has been finalized, and the opening performer has been revealed: Ellie Goulding. That means Goulding will take the stage in London on September 19 to kick things off.
Apple also announced that Mumford & Sons is set to make their presence known at the festival as well, as will country singer Carrie Underwood. With those final acts confirmed, that means the full lineup has finally been finalized:
- September 19: Ellie Goulding
- September 20: Take That
- September 21: Carrie Underwood
- September 22: One Direction
- September 23: The Weeknd
- September 24: The Chemical Brothers
- September 25: Disclosure
- September 26: Pharrell Williams
- September 27: Mumford & Sons
- September 28: Florence + The Machine
As is usual, there will be plenty of “special guests” that will take the stage during the 10-day event, which already includes James Bray, Jack Garrett, Lion Babe, NAO, Little Mix, and Leon Bridges. Apple has yet to announce all of the special guests, though, but considering the event’s impending launch, and with the official lineup now finalized, those details should be revealed soon.
Apple will be live streaming the Apple Music Festival via its own iOS apps, as well as a dedicated app on the Apple TV.
