Lenovo announces the Phab Plus, shares some similarities to the iPhone 6

Lenovo Phab Plus
There’s a saying that suggests copying is the purest form of flattery, and if that’s the case then a lot of companies out there sure do like other companies.
Lenovo seems to be a fan of Apple, based on the unveiling of their latest “phablet,” the Phab Plus. As TechCrunch has pointed out, the new device from the company shares plenty of similarities to Apple’s iPhone 6 (which, as many suggested last year when it was unveiled, shares similarities to HTC’s One lineup, and so on, and so forth…), and not just in the antenna bands on the back. Just taking a look at the Phab Plus from the angled front, as is pictured above, shows a device that does look strikingly like the iPhone 6. You could put iOS 8 as the rendered image on the display on that phone above and call it an iPhone, and more than likely many wouldn’t argue with you.
The camera and its flash on the back is in a similar location as the iPhone 6’s, too. And obviously those rounded edges are more than obvious. The color schemes that Lenovo decided on are the same as Apple’s, too, just with different names: Champagne Gold, Gunmetal Gray, and Titanium Silver.
The button placements are different, though, with the volume rocker on the Phab Plus being just above the Power button on the right edge. The top-half of the Phab Plus’s backside is different as well. And while there are two screws flanking the charging port on the bottom edge, there is at least no speaker grille or headphone jack.
The biggest difference with the Phab Plus is the screen size, as Lenovo wants “the best of both worlds” when combining the phone and tablet. As a result, the new device’s screen measures in at 6.8-inches, so it’s certainly in a class of its own at this point. It’s also running Android 5.0 out of the box, but that shouldn’t be all that big of a surprise.
What do you think of the design of Lenovo’s Phab Plus?
