There are a lot of Instagram enhancements tweak available in Cydia such as InstaTool tweak we reviewed earlier. However, a new jailbreak tweak known as InstaBetter appears to be the most feature-rich enhancement tweak made for Instagram.
InstaBetter aims to improve Instagram by bringing a bunch of new features that will improve your experience using the app. It appears to be an all-in-one enhancement tweak for Instagram. These new options include:
- Save images and videos to your Camera Roll
- Mute users from your main feed
- Hide sponsored ads
- Custom locations
- Show follow status on profiles just like how Twitter shows whether the user is following you back
- Show like counts as percentages
- Hold down to copy text and images
- Add a proper share sheet to media
- Open links in Instagram
- View DMs without notifying the sender
To save an image or video to your Camera Roll, simply tap on the ellipsis button (…) located below a media and choose ‘Save Media’ option. This saves the image or video to your Camera Roll. To mute a user so that you don’t get their posts on your timeline feed, go to the user’s profile and tap on the ellipsis button in the top right corner and choose Mute.
InstaBetter comes with a bunch of features that are not present in other tweaks such as the ability to view DMs without notifying the sender and viewing like counts as percentages. Overall, it’s an all-in-one enhancement tweak for Instagram. I’ve given the tweak a try and it works properly with the latest version of Instagram (v7.5).
The tweak also comes with a dedicated preferences pane available in Settings where you can enable or disable it on demand as well as toggle on or off each of the new features that it provides.
