Apple launches Beats Pill+ iOS and Android apps to control the Bluetooth speaker

Beats Pill+ iOS app
Earlier this week, Apple released the Beats Pill+ Bluetooth speaker into its online store, letting potential buyers pick up the first design from Beats since Apple acquired the company.
Now, in light of the speaker becoming available, Apple has released a brand new Beats Pill+ app, which will let owners control certain aspects of the speaker. That includes being able to check the power level of the speaker, link multiple speakers together, keep tabs on and download software updates and more. According to Apple’s official description of the app, there are three different modes that can be access from the app:
  • DJ – Grab a friend and control the music from two Bluetooth® sources.
  • Amplify – Add a second Beats Pill+ into the mix and simultaneously play from both for a sound that’s twice as full.
  • Stereo – Use two Beats Pill+ speakers as left and right output for an even more dynamic sound experience.
The app is available right now as a free download for both iOS and Android. This is a bit of a big launch for Apple, considering that this is the first simultaneous app launch for both Apple’s mobile OS and Google’s offering. It’s only the second Android app the company has launched in general, following the Move to iOS app that was released earlier this year. It won’t be the last one, though, as Apple plans on launching Apple Music for Android devices at some point in the future.
A link to the Beats Pill+ app is available below for iOS users. It’s also available for Android users.
