Facebook brings 360-degree videos to the iOS News Feed

Facebook 360-degree iOS videos
It’s been some time since Facebook launched 360-degree videos for Android users, but now the feature is now rolling out to iOS users.
The 360-degree videos, which are the byproduct of a collaboration between Facebook and Oculus, will appear in a user’s News Feed as a normal video would, but there are some key differences after the user activates the video. Users will be able to change their field of view by shifting the phone around in their physical space, or by tapping on the display to achieve the same effect.
The social networking giant has also launched a dedicated microsite to showcase how easy it is to upload the videos to the network, as well as offering tips for providing the best possible shots for the videos.
As far as content goes, several different brands have already published the unique videos to News Feeds, including Disney, GoPro and Vice. For its part, Facebook says there is even more content coming down the pipe, including videos from BuzzFeed, ABC News and Nickelodeon.
Advertisements are part of the deal, too. Facebook has confirmed that beginning November 12, there will be 360-degree video ads from the likes of AT&T, Samsung, Nescafé, Corona and Disney, with plenty more to come.
Have you tried out the new videos yet?
