Facebook is working on its own digital assistant codenamed ‘Moneypenny’

Google, Apple and Microsoft have all been working on their own digital assistant for their respective platforms. The digital assistant from these companies are aimed at making the lives of their users easier by displaying them relevant information at the right time and automatically reminding them before their flight, movie or any other scheduled event.
Not to be left behind, Facebook is now also working on its own digital assistant codenamed “Moneypenny.” However, Facebook’s digital assistant is going to be significantly different from Apple’s Siri, Google’s Now, and Microsoft’s Cortana. Instead of focusing on increasing one’s productivity, ‘Moneypenny’ is aimed at connecting users “with real people” who will help them research on the products and services that they are interested in buying.
This makes Moneypenny different from being a digital operator and is similar to a concierge system found in most hotels and malls, which is run by human operators. At the moment, not much is known about Facebook’s digital assistant, including how developed it is, when it would be launching, and what all features it would be packing. It is possible that Facebook will be integrating its Moneypenny virtual assistant in Facebook Messenger to make it easier for its users to shop around and order products they like. In recent time, Facebook has updated its messaging service to add the ability to transfer money and even opened up the platform to third-party developers.
