Cydia currently displays a recommended list of packages labelled as ‘Featured’ for new users to install on their device. However, there’s still no way that you can find out which are the top paid and free packages just like the iOS App Store. Indulge is a new jailbreak tweak by Cydia developer Steven Rolfe that brings this much-awaited feature to Cydia.
The tweak adds a new tab to Cydia labelled as ‘Top Rated’ where you can view all the top free and paid packages that are available. The page features two tabs that allows you to switch between the top free and top paid sections. Each of these sections displays 20 tweaks along with a short description of what they do. Tapping on them takes you to their detailed description page where you can install or purchase them.
After installing the tweak, you’ll notice that all the extra tabs in Cydia have been moved to the ‘More’ tab to make space for the newly added tab.Indulge generates the top charts for Cydia by collecting tweak installation data from all the users who have installed the package. So by installing Indulge, you opt-in to have your tweak installation date sent anonymously to the server of the developer to generate the reports. Therefore, the larger the audience base of Indulge, the more accurate the top charts will be for free and paid packages.
Previously, Indulge replaced the main Cydia homepage with top charts but in the latest version, the top charts are now situated in a seperate tab which is much better. If you’d like to find out the most popular tweaks for Cydia, then you must definitely check out this new tweak.
To install Indulge, you must first add the developer’s repo to Cydia since the tweak is currently in the beta stage. Following is the developer’s URL: http://apt.steverolfe.com. Alternatively, you can add the tweak by opening this link from your jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
