Philips Hue lights will sync with the action in Xbox One title ‘Chariot,’ as well as upcoming ‘Sharknado 3′

Philips Hue Lighting and Chariot
For a long time, just making a room dark to enjoy a video game or movie was the best way to immerse folks in the experience on the screen.
That’s changed, for some, with the introduction of smart-connected lights, which allow for the hue to change on command. Philips has its Hue lineup of smart lights, and it has done work in the past with the SyFy Network to offer a synced experience with past movies, including Sharknado and Sharknado 2, as well as the TV series 12 Monkeys. That trend continues with a recent announcement that the Hue lineup with sync with this summer’s upcoming release, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, which is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 22.
To make it work with the upcoming movie, iOS users will need to download the SyFy Sync app, which is available through a link at the bottom of this article. But that’s not all. Philips has also announced that, for the first time, the Hue lighting system will also sync up with the Xbox One title, Chariot, an action platformer. Now, for those that have the lights set up and play the game, when the characters are attacked and take damage, the lights will flicker red; when a flower blooms in the environment, the lights will alter their colors to match the flower’s and light up the room.
The Philips Hue lineup has been available from Apple Stores for quite some time, and Philips recently debuted their “Hue Go” portable iPhone-connected lights.
What do you think of this idea, of syncing up lights with the action from a movie or video game?
