The first batch of the latest generation Apple TV Developer Kits have started making their way into the hands of developers from around the world. It was only earlier this week that Apple started letting developers know if they have won the lottery for the Apple TV dev. kit or not.
Developers who won the lottery for the Apple TV dev. kit were able to get it by only paying $1 for verification purposes.
Apple TV 4 is scheduled to be available in stores from late October, but with developers getting their hands on the device now, expect more information about how it works and its internals within the next week or two.
The fourth-generation Apple TV has already been unboxed in a video, which revealed that the remote bundled with it comes with a metallic finish rather than a plastic one.
The new Apple TV comes with an A8 chipset, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi ac, Ethernet connectivity, and runs on a new tvOS with Siri integration and universal search support. The bundled remote with the device is also capable of acting as a motion-controller for games.
