Best Buy now rolling out Apple Pay support in U.S. stores

In late April of this year, Best Buy officially announced that it would be supporting Apple Pay, Apple’s mobile payments option, in its stores across the United States by the end of 2015.
Apple Pay has actually been supported for purchases made within the Best Buy app since that announcement made in April, but now, based on a report published by MacRumors, the company is now officially rolling out support for Apple Pay in its physical retail stores across the United States.
The report cites several different posts made to Reddit, along with a YouTube video that was recently published that showcases using Apple Pay at a Best Buy checkout areas. So far, it would appear that these successful purchases with Apple Pay have been made in California, but the system should be rolling out to stores across the nation in short order.

Best Buy’s support for Apple Pay was a bit of a surprise when they announced it earlier this year, as the company previously had an exclusivity agreement with the Merchant Customer Exchange which stretched for three years. That actually ended in August, though, so Best Buy was able to begin rolling out support for Apple Pay relatively quickly once that came to an end.[via MacRumors; Reddit; YouTube]
