Apple Pay has been available in the U.K. for a month now, but several major banks are yet to support it. One of those, Lloyds Bank, is now informing its customers that they’ll be able to use Apple Pay “very soon.”
“With breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features you’ll be able to make contactless purchases and pay within apps in an easy secure and private way,” reads the notice that greets Lloyds Bank customers to login online today.
“Very soon, you can start enjoying all the benefits of your Lloyds Bank debit or credit card using Apple Pay.”
Lloyds also reminds customers that Apple Pay is compatible only with the iPhone 6,iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhones connected toApple Watch — as well as iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 when shopping within iOS apps.
Banks that already support Apple Pay in the U.K. include American Express, First Direct, HSBC, MBNA, Nationwide, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, and Ulster Bank. Those that have agreed to add support soon include Bank of Scotland, Halifax, M&S Bank, and TSB.
