Apple expanding its R&D center in Lund, Sweden to work on ‘advanced mapping technology’

Apple Maps - iOS 7
A report from Sweden news service Rapidus claims that Apple has been silently increasing its presence in Lund, Sweden. The company has apparently been working on ‘advanced mapping technology.’
The report claims that Apple is working on next generation of Apple Maps at its secret R&D center in the city that was launched in November last year.
Now, a report from news agency Rapidus claims Apple has been quietly ramping up its operations in Lund, a city near Malmö in Sweden, where it is apparently working on ‘advanced mapping technology’.
It is unclear what ‘advanced mapping technology’ includes, though hopefully whatever is working on will improve Apple Maps further.
Apple has been taking significant efforts to improve Apple Maps. With iOS 9, the company is adding transit directions to the service in certain regions of the world and also introducing Nearby, a feature that automatically highlights popular places around you. It is also driving around vehicles across the globe to presumably introduce a Street View like feature.
