Apple no longer allows beta iOS users to post app reviews

App Store
With the latest release of the iOS 9 beta, Apple is no longer allowing users to submit app reviews on the App Store, thereby solving one of the biggest gripes of developers with how Apple’s beta program works.
Now, when a user running a beta build of iOS 9 tries leaving an app store review, irrespective of whether it is positive or negative, they will be displayed a pop up saying that this feature is not available to them.
While beta builds of iOS are only meant for developers and advanced users, many normal users end up installing it on their devices and leave negative reviews of apps and games on the App Store because they keep crashing or don’t perform as optimally as they should. The negative reviews end up frustrating developers since users don’t realise that they are running a beta version of an OS, which has many bugs and issues under the hood that lead to random crashes and stalls.
The release of public betas of iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan a couple of weeks ago led to steep drop in the ranking of many apps in the App Store due to a barrage of negative reviews.
While iOS 9 beta users cannot leave any app reviews in the App Store, they can still give them star ratings.
In the end though, the change made by Apple will definitely benefit developers who were earlier penalised in terms of app rankings because of some lesser known iOS beta users.
