The dock on the Home screen provides quick access to your favorite applications. If you’re looking for an application launcher that is available system-wide then you should check out a new jailbreak tweak called DockBar.
DockBar is a lightweight customizable application launcher with a slick design that can be viewed from anywhere within iOS. The tweak takes advantage of Activator to invoke it via a gesture. Doing so displays a dock on the left or the right side of the screen with your favorite applications that can be launched. You can add as many apps as you’d like to the dock.
The tweak also comes with a dedicated preferences pane available in Settings where you can enable or disable it via the kill switch toggle, choose an Activator gesture to invoke it and add the apps you’d like to the application launcher.
You can also customize the appearance of the application launcher such as switch between the dark or the light theme, enable or disable icon labels, dock paging and rounded dock edges as well as place DockBar on the left or the right side of the screen.
What’s good about DockBar is that you can add as many apps as you’d like to the application launcher. You can swipe the application launcher vertically in order to scroll through all the added apps.
There are many similar application launchers available in Cydia but DockBar stands out from the crowd because of its sleek design and bunch of customization options that it provides especially the light and dark themes that bring a native look and feel to it.
If you’re in to give this tweak a try, DockBar is available for $0.99 on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Let us know what you think about the tweak once you’ve given it a try.
