Along with fourth beta of watch OS 2 and iOS 9, Apple also released the fourth beta of OS X El Capitan, build 13S5305d. The beta comes nearly a month after Apple had released the second beta of the OS, which was followed by a public beta release earlier this month.
OS X El Capitan brings with it some major performance and graphical improvements that will lead to significantly better performance in day-to-day usage of the OS. It also brings Apple’s renowned Metal API to Mac allowing developers to create more graphically rich games for the OS. It also features a new and improved Spotlight, an enhanced Mail app, and more.
The third beta of OS X El Capitan is likely to bring with it more bug fixes and performance improvements, and further add polish to the OS before its release later this year. The list of Macs supported by OS X El Capitan are as follows:
- iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
- MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
- MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
- Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
- Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
- Xserve (Early 2009)
If you are already running the second beta of El Capitan on your Mac, you can grab the update by going to the Mac App Store.
