What’s new in iOS 9 beta 4: Home Sharing for Apple Music, iPod touch support and more

On July 21, Apple officially released the fourth beta for iOS 9, which is the next mobile operating system scheduled to launch later this year to the public.
Now that there’s been a bit of time with the software, a few key details have been discovered. First of which is Apple Music now has Home Sharing support, something that was missing since the launch of iOS 8.4. Apple’s Eddy Cue had said on Twitter that Apple planned on adding support for Apple Music in iOS 9, and, sure enough, it has done just that.

For those that picked up, or plan to pick up, Apple’s sixth-generation iPod touch, iOS 9 beta 4 is fully supported by the mobile device, so testing is possible on that device as well. Another noteworthy change is the Notifications icon within the Settings option, which is now a bold red color. A fix within iOS 9 beta 4 is for the volume button to be used as the camera shutter, which was broken in iOS 9 beta 3. That’s working now in the fourth beta.iOS 9 Notification icon

Handoff: For those that use Handoff frequently, the option has been moved within the App Switcher interface. Previously, it was displayed within the app carousel. Now, though, users will have to pull up on the icon that’s been placed at the bottom of the display while switching between running apps, as seen in the image above.
If any other new additions crop up, we’ll be sure to add them here.
