Apple makes 12-inch MacBook available for personal pickup in retail stores

Apple has finally made its new 12-inch MacBook available for personal pickup in retail stores across the U.S., four months after it made its debut. The device has been available for walk-in customers in some stores sporadically, but it’s a whole lot easier to get hold of now.
Despite its price tag, demand for the 12-inch MacBook seems to have been high since Apple made it available to order online. A small number of units have made their way to some Apple Stores and Best Buy locations, but most have only had display units.
Now users can reserve the machine online for personal pickup, but still, not all models are readily available. “For example, the 256 GB Silver MacBook is not available for personal pickup in New York, NY while the 256 GB Space Gray is widely available,” MacRumors reports.
Shipping estimates continue to show 1-2 week delays for MacBooks ordered online, but over the coming weeks and months, those will fall as Apple catches up with demand. If you can find one, then, getting a MacBook from a local Apple Store is certainly the fastest option.
