With iOS 9 and watchOS 2 coming to the public later this year, Apple has taken to updating its TestFlight app to let developers better prepare for the launch.
While iOS 9 and watchOS 2 are in beta right now from Apple, developers have had to wait for TestFlight, the official app testing platform, to allow their own apps to get tested before public launch with the plethora of new features added to iOS and watchOS. As such, Apple has officially updated the app to version 1.2.0, and brought with it support for iOS 9 and watchOS 2 features.
One of the main additions is app thinning, which is coming to iOS 9 later this year. With this, apps will be able to be installed faster and even launch more quickly on a device, all the while taking up less space on the device they’re installed on.
It’s worth noting, though, that external testing is not supported in this update just yet, so developers won’t be able to beta test their apps externally with outside testers just yet.
The updated version of TestFlight, which is still free, is available to download below.
